The Psychology and Life Society, under the academic supervision of Yasemin Yeşilyaprak, Assistant Professor of our department, carried out a two-day academic visit to Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Psychology on April 28-29, 2025 within the scope of the national UNIDES project titled “From Origins to the Future: Academic Meeting for Psychology Students”.
Within the scope of the project, 30 students from the Department of Psychology, accompanied by their academic advisors, had the opportunity to observe the academic content on site in courses on current topics such as Comparison of Basic Psychoanalytic Concepts, New Formations in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Health Psychology, Qualitative Research in Psychology at Istanbul University Department of Psychology. Accompanied by the faculty members of the department, the students visited the Istanbul University Psychology Laboratory Museum and had the opportunity to examine the scientific accumulation of the development of psychology in our country through tangible elements such as historical materials, test sets and archival documents on the experimental history of psychology. Throughout the event, the students had one-to-one contact with the faculty members of Istanbul University Department of Psychology and received information about graduate education, academic research and professional development opportunities. These interactions contributed to our students' awareness of different subfields of psychology and the academic activities carried out in these fields.
The students participating in the project stated that meeting different academic cultures was a valuable experience for their professional and personal development. We congratulate the Psychology and Life Community for successfully representing our faculty.
